A line is a line is a line, of course?

Wow, I've never had so many comments. Thank you all.

But, I don't think I have good news today.

I did a couple of tests yesterday evening. I got lines but they were not darker than the morning's lines. No worries, I thought, I'm just not one of those women whose lines are darker in the evening, I must need more concentrated pee. I also had some brown spotting yesterday which again I thought, hey, it's normal, no problems.

So, this morning's concentrated pee was eagerly anticipated. OK, well, not eagerly, but you know what I mean.

The digital test said Not Pregnant. There are lines on the other tests but they are, I would say, fainter than yesterday's lines. I think my plucky little embryo tried very hard to implant but sadly didn't quite make it. I think we're looking at a chemical at best.

I know, I know, it's not over until the beta. But my cautious optimism is now cautious pessimism and I'm just glad that I didn't start buying maternity clothes or anything like that yesterday in a fit of bravado.

Sigh.

Sarah -

I was off the internet yesterday and missed all the excitement. So WOW, that is wonderful.

A line is a line on those tests - they are not meant to be compared - a fainter line could just be due to differences in the sticks! Or you had more water, or more or less salt, etc.

Hang in there!

Sarah- I'm really holding out hope for this. I don't have the pictures to compare *hint* but, sometimes it takes a little while for the lines to start getting darker.

It's going to be hard (for you *and* for the rest of us!) to wait for the beta tomorrow.

I really hope that this works. I really really do.

Two things: 1) I agree with the others. The line darkness/lightness just isn't quantitative. The makers of the HCG sticks don't design them that way.

and 2) The digital? Not so accurate when it says negative, imho. If it says positive, sure - but it over-calls negatives when betas are still relatively low. I only take it as gospel if it's negative at, say, 20 dpo. Not before, because it's just not a mature technology yet.

I'm still holding out hope for your beta. OTOH, I've been in the negatives then positives then negatives again position several times, and I know it sucks.

Keeping you in my thoughts.

I'm waiting on the beta (tomorrow, right???). Based on my own experience I just don't believe in those sticks one little bit.

I hate pee sticks. I'm still hoping for a great beta. This little FAQ has always given me hope:

I'm hoping the beta rocks your world and our little corner of the internet AND crappy pee sticks should go away.

Take it easy tonight -- it isn't over until the beta sings. :)
